  32. Our intention is to continue to support a console-only version, but that's
  33. not a firm commitment.  As you might infer, supporting anything at all to
  34. do with console applications in Windows 95 is not easy, nor is mixing and
  35. matching the GUI and console environments.  But unless we run into
  36. insuperable obstacles, we plan to do it.

  38. Just out of curiousity, what is your interest in preservation of console
  39. mode?

  41. In any case, we do not plan to add any major functionality in the first GUI
  42. release.  It will be pretty much the same program you have now, but GUIfied.
  43. This in itself is a massive job, and it would not make sense to muddy the
  44. waters by also incorporating major new features.  It would delay the release
  45. considerably and it would complicate testing and verification.  Additional
  46. functionality will follow the first GUI release.
